POSITION SCOPE:

A junior level position in the New Gold IT team, the role will encompass all aspects of IT service and delivery.

DURATION:

This position is on a defined 6-month term.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • Tier 1 and Tier 2 desktop support for users onsite and remote
  • IT service provisioning (i.e. add/delete users, change of access, password resets, mailbox quota management)
  • End user incident management
  • Server management
  • Networking troubleshooting
  • Backup and recovery
  • Server management
  • Work with other departments and vendors on IT related projects
  • Other relevant duties as assigned

 

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

 

  • University or College degree/diploma in Computer Science/Information Technology or related experience
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft product suite, including but not limited to: Active Directory (and/or LDAP), Email, Sharepoint, Windows 7/8, Office 2013
  • Experience with Microsoft server administration (Exchange, Lync, SharePoint, File/Print)
  • Knowledge of Microsoft infrastructure (ActiveDirectory, GPO, DHCP, DNS, PKI, NAP, Hyper-V)
  • Sound knowledge of TCP/IP and basic networking principles
  • Racking/cabling of servers and network equipment experience an asset
  • Ability to problem solve and handle multiple tasks efficiently and effectively
