Mine Manager – Relocation to North West Ontario
The successful Mine Manager candidate will report directly to the General Manager.
The Mine Manager is a key member of the Operations Management team. The incumbent is responsible for overseeing Mining Operations and developing and implementing an effective Mine Plan to support the successful development of the project.
This includes building the initial operations team during the pre-production and construction period; managing all aspects of the mine planning and development; promoting a safe, positive and productive workplace by providing leadership and continuity to all staff; coordinating with other departments and regulators to optimize efficiencies and ensure compliance with all Provincial and Federal standards; recommending and implementing measures to improve safety and production performance; and ensuring all mining activities are performed safely by taking a proactive approach to implementing safe work practices and procedures to effectively manage risks associated with mine development and operations.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
· Qualified candidates have a bachelor’s degree in Mine Engineering or other related discipline
· 10+ years’ experience in a senior level management position responsible for activities associated with open pit and underground mining operations.
· Well-developed skills in budgeting and finance, business and communications.
· In addition, the successful candidate has a proven leadership capability in managing employees in creating a dynamic, self-accountable workforce who all feel a part of the success of the project.
This is a relocation role.
