QUALIFICATION & Experience
- B Sc Hon degree in Geology.
- A qualification in Mineral Resource Management will be an advantage
- Minimum 8 years relevant experience in geology, preferably in a base metal environment
- Experience in underground mine geology, exploration and production drilling, 3D modeling, grade estimation, grade control, mineralogy, structural geology, execution of hydrological studies and compilation of a Resources Statement
- Experience in MineSight and acQuire software will be beneficial
- Proficiency in English or Afrikaans
- Code 08 drivers license and computer literacy
KEY JOB PERFORMANCE AREAS
- Planning (long, medium and short term) of geology function
- Compile and execute geology strategy
- Co-ordinate compilation of the Resources and Reserves Statement
- Mentoring and training of geologists
- Ensure optimum use of the resource
- People management of the geology section
- Co-ordinating activities between geology, BI, mining and plant
- Technical alignment of geological functions (incl. data management and QAQC) and ensuring best practices
- Statutory reporting and stakeholder relationship
- Identifying and managing geological risks
- Management of safety in area of responsibility
- Fitness for Duty Certificate will be required.
