As a Senior Mining Engineering Supervisor in the organization, you will be a leader in this strategic business unit, focused on achieving the highest standards of safety, quality of work and production output from your team. You will report directly to the Superintendent of Engineering and be responsible for managing the engineering team and support staff on site. You will provide oversight of the mine; evaluate the growth opportunities and alternate mining methods to ensure that production levels are maximized.
On a day-to-day basis, you will be a courageous safety leader who adheres to and supports the safety and environmental rules and procedures that are central to the organizations success. You will also provide technical guidance and leadership to the engineering team and optimize the deployment of the technical workforce as priorities change. One of the critical factors to success in this role is being able to develop team members through planning, management by objectives, recognition and mentorship. You will provide corporate governance for the Life of Mine Plans, reserve and resources and quarterly reconciliations and oversee mine design, economic evaluation, cost estimating, productivity forecasting, equipment selection and production scheduling on a wide range of studies from pre-scoping to feasibility studies.
To be considered for a Senior Mining Engineer Supervisor, you will have a Bachelors Degree in Mining Engineering and be eligible for your P.Eng designation. You must have superior interpersonal and organizational skills and eight years of experience, preferably in an open-pit mine environment. Equivalent experience in open pit, truck and shovel operations would also be considered advantageous. You should have experience leading a team of junior engineers and be technically capable in the use of spreadsheets and word processing software.
Compensation
$115,000 - $135,000
