Mill Superintendent (Mine Operations)

The Nixon Fork Operation is currently looking to fill a vacant position of Mill Superintendent. Reporting the VP Operations, the Mill Superintendent will be responsible for overall mill operations at the mine site including mill operations, mill maintenance, all metallurgical services and assay lab. Your first priority will be to commission the newly installed cyanidation and gold recovery plant.

Specific Duties Include:

  • Recommend improvements in plant operation, assist in metallurgical process operation and plant design.

  • Design and perform metallurgical test work as necessary to improve product recovery and quality.

  • Responsible for metallurgical reports, metallurgical balances and accounting.

  • Assess the needs of and optimize the operation of the existing gravity and flotation plant.

  • Responsible for directing the assay lab.

Qualifications:

  • BS in Metallurgical Engineering, Mineral Processing, Chemical Engineering or related field.
  • 10 years of mill operations experience, preferably holding a previous mill superintendent position.
  • Experience in flotation, gold leaching and carbon elution circuits is mandatory.
  • Must have proven leadership, engineering and organizational skills.
  • Must be able to work in a camp setting.
  • Must be fluent in Excel.

Compensation

The rotation schedule is two weeks on and two weeks off consisting of one day for travel into the site from Anchorage. Mystery Creek will fly you from the closest major airport where you live, to the minesite. Mystery Creek also offers a generous medical plan.
