Dominion Diamond Corporation is a Canadian diamond mining company with ownership interests in two of the world’s most valuable diamond mines. The company is one of the largest producers by value globally and is listed on the Toronto and New York stock exchanges.

Founded in 1991, it is a well-established company and, having sold its luxury brand diamond jewelry division, Harry Winston Inc., in 2013, now is a single commodity play focused exclusively on diamond mining. The business has produced strong results and is well positioned to deliver value from the mines while pursuing a value enhancing strategy. The company is well funded and has a strong balance sheet.

At this exciting time in the company’s development, the Board is looking to appoint a new Chief Financial Officer. Based in the headquarters at 1102 4920 52nd Street in Yellowknife, Canada, this individual will bring strong leadership to the finance function of this publicly listed company.

The Responsibilities

• Lead the finance function, and its team, to ensure growth and development.

• Deliver year-end and quarterly closing of accounts and submission of financial statements.

• Manage the capital structure in line with strategy.

• Establish a strong financial discipline and culture across the company.

• Communicate all aspects of financial performance of the business with key stakeholders.

The Requirements

• Chartered Professional Account or Chartered Account designation. 

• A Chief Financial Officer, or divisional finance leader, with experience of a listed plc.

• A robust, senior operator with a minimum 15 years’ of experience in the sector (or a related resources or industrial sector).

• A track record of managing all aspects of the finance function.

• A strong leader who can motivate and develop a high performing finance function.

• An effective communicator who will enjoy working with external stakeholders.

This full-time, permanent position requires the incumbent to reside in the City of Yellowknife in Canada's Northwest Territories.  The role will be based primarily at the Yellowknife Office, but includes a regular period of time spent at the Ekati Mine site, located at 300 kilometers northeast of Yellowknife.
