Chief Geoscientist (Geology & Exploration)

Reporting to the CEO, the Chief Geoscientist will primarily be responsible for all matters regarding the constant improvement of geological interpretations and models for BGM. The detailed duties and responsibilities are listed as below:

Position Responsibilities:

• Custodian on all matters regarding the constant improvement of geological interpretations and models.
• Sign off and assist with efficient planning of all drill and exploration programs.
• Mentoring, training & professional development of BGM’s geoscientists.  Training in all aspects of core logging and mineral recognition, geological mapping including structural mapping, modelling and interpretation, fundamentals and execution of exploration techniques.
• Educate other non-geology staff members on the important aspects of geology and exploration to BGM’s objectives and operations.
• Advise on improvement to utility of exploration database and software.
• Assist with third party evaluations.
• Coordinate with external research groups with work as it pertains to or is of interest to BGM.
• Assist the Executive Management team with presenting or marketing geological aspects of BGM’s business plan.
• Work with management with development of mid to long-term operations and project development.
• Monitor to ensure adherence to best practices for mill production.

Position Requirements:

• PhD level education in geology preferably in structural geology.
• At least 10 years of exploration experience including at least 5 with a multinational miner exploring for gold.
• In-depth knowledge and extensive experience with advanced geological databases & modelling software.
• Extensive experience with design and implementation of exploration programs including drill programs.
• Extensive multi-country experience in mineral property reviews.
• Willing to travel between the Wells Field and Toronto Offices. Occasional international travel is required to conduct third party field reviews.

Terms of Employment: Full Time, Permanent (40 hours per week)

Compensation

Salary: $150,000 / year

Benefits: The Executive shall be eligible to participate in the Company’s medical, dental, life insurance and other group benefit plans generally available to its executives from time to time (the “Benefit Plans”) in accordance with the terms of the Benefit Plans and applicable policies, as amended from time to time. Eligible for bonuses and/or salary increases in accordance to company policies.
