Our client, a precious metals producer, is in search for a Chief Mine Engineer.
The Chief Mine Engineer will be responsible for taking the lead role in overseeing all aspects of the short and long-term mine plans of the operations. The incumbent will maintain the quality of mine plans and schedules as well as monitor the progress of the operations. Major areas of responsibility will include: the delivery of short and long term plans for the safe and economic extraction of the mine reserves; maintaining development and production schedules; recommending and implementing process changes; providing technical leadership and operational expertise to engineering and the operations; managing the mine engineering functions at the mine to maximize the operation’s performance and providing training, mentoring and development opportunities to a first class team of mining professionals.
The ideal candidate must possess a minimum of B.Eng. in mining and must be a P.Eng or eligible to acquire it, combined with a minimum of 10 years underground mining experience. Demonstrated proficiency with AutoCAD and A-Mine, GEMS or Mine 24D or similar mining software a must. The individual must be able to build teams and be able to see the bigger picture but give appropriate attention to the details.
