Our client, a mining company in the Middle East, currently requires a Chief Mine Planning Engineer to work on an open-pit gold mine. 

Candidates will have a degree in Mining Engineering and a minimum of 7–10 years relevant open-pit gold experience.

The ideal candidate will be able to use mine planning software such as Gemcom, Surpac, DataMine, MineSched etc. and be conversant with block modelling, ore reserve calculation, designing and blasting.


The successful candidate will plan and design the mine layout and equipment to ensure ore extraction rates are maintained and to ensure the mine is designed safely.  Also included will be to supervise the drafting of maps and plans, both manually and via AutoCAD or Surpac and to supervise and coordinate the surveying. 

In addition, duties will include:
• Supervising the activities of assigned mine engineering personnel
• Performing cost analysis for all mining activities
• Analysing and compiling monthly and yearly statistical production reports for management review and
• Analysing production processes i.e. blasting techniques, cycle times, manpower allotments, haulage rates, loading capacities etc. to ensure optimum levels of activities.

Compensation

This position is offered on a single basis with a good salary package and bonuses.
