Core Logging Geologist - 12 Months Fixed Term

Northern Star Resources Limited is a successful ASX200 gold producer and explorer with multiple operations in WA and the NT.

Northern Star Resources Limited (ASX: NST) is a dynamic and expanding Australian gold producer with a strong emphasis on high-grade, low-cost mines with robust margins and a production profile of ~550,000oz per annum.  The Company owns and operates the following gold mines:  Paulsens, Plutonic, Kanowna Belle, Kundana (51% JV interest), Millennium and Jundee in Western Australia, and is the manager of the Central Tanami Project (25% JV interest) in the Northern Territory.  In addition, the Company has a strong exploration focus with a significant land package covering ~10,000km2 in prospective areas of Western Australia and the Northern Territory.

The Company currently has an opportunity for a Core Logging Geologist to join our team in Kalgoorlie for a 12 month Fixed Term contract on a 5:2 roster at our Kundana Operation. You will be required to reside in the local area.

The Core Logging Geologist reports to the Senior Mine Geologist and the primary role is to log diamond drill core and assist with all other aspects of the processing drill core.

To be considered for this role, you will need to be able to demonstrate:

  • Geology Degree/Bachelor of Science or currently studying and near completion.
  • Current "C" Class Western Australian Manual Drivers Licence.
  • Logging experience in the mining industry (underground preferred).
  • Strong understanding of fundamental geological principals.
  • Ability to communicate with a broad variety of people.
  • Good computing skills.
  • Good data management skills.
  • Fork Lift Ticket (Desirable).
  • Legal right to work within Australia.
  • A National Police Clearance.
