DSI Saskatoon is the head quarters for the DSI Underground Canada supporting facilities across Canada. Currently the accounting team has added the new position of Senior Cost Accountant. This individual will be accountable for internal reporting to support the sales and operations department along with managing inventory control and providing manufacturing variance analysis. Furthermore, the chosen candidate will be responsible for leading the costing analysis for Canada.
Experience: 6-9 Years
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Establishes and maintains internal controls on product standard costs, inventory control and capital asset management
- Provides budget and forecast scenario analysis on production efficiencies projects and/or customer margins projections
- Provides analysis on new ways to improve production efficiencies and/or improve customer margins.
- Utilization and efficiency analysis on production processes along with uptime analysis on fixed assets.
- Perform detailed financial analysis including advanced financial modeling, profitability analysis, return on investment, monitoring business issues and impact to bottom line.
Qualification and Requirements:
-Bachelor degree majoring in accounting or commerce related field is required.
-An accounting related certification or in the process of pursuing a designation such as CA, CPA, CMA or CGA would be considered as an asset.
-Minimum of 6-8years experience working in a financial role with direct cost accounting experience. Experience in manufacturing environment would be ideal
-Takes pride in attention to detail and accuracy
-Preference will be given to candidates with working knowledge of Dynamics Nav 2016 or other accounting systems
