Twin Metals Minnesota LLC seeks a Director of Mining at its St. Paul and Ely, Minnesota locations to oversee and manage engineering aspects of mine planning an infrastructure design. More specifically, the duties are to:
- Perform due diligence review of all mine engineering for massive (>50,000 tons per day ore) underground mine project;
- Provide technical expertise and support while managing an internal team and outside consultants in order to lead project development evaluations, analysis and feasibility studies for proposed projects;
- Prepare, coordinate and present updates and results of the mine project to the Board’s Technical Committee on a regular basis; and
- Report directly to the Vice President of Project Development, ensuring compliance with company policies and standards.
The position requires a Bachelor’s Degree, or foreign equivalent degree, in Mine Engineering or a closely related field. We also require five years of experience with progressively increasing responsibility in: mine engineering and in short and long-term planning for a massive (>50,000 tpd) underground mine; mine operations experience for high capital projects (>$20 million/year budget); leadership in planning and operation groups; and leading work with company and contractor teams. The position requires up to 25% domestic and international travel for technical visits, site visits, and benchmarking.
