Electrical Engineer
Red Chris Development Company is seeking experienced individuals to be a part of the mine development team for the Red Chris Project in northwest British Columbia. The work is at a remote camp and the successful applicants will be required to work and stay in camp on a rotational basis.
Reporting to the Electrical Superintendent, the Electrical Engineer is responsible for providing Electrical Engineering services to all departments. The succesful candidate will be providing technical support for the process control systems, electrical distribution systems, communicaiton equipment and provide assistance in heavy equipment related projects and other initiatives.
Primary responsibilities for the Electrical Engineer are:
Prepare engineering analysis of projects to include: preliminary design, calculation, life cycle cost and equipment selection
Prepare/interpret blueprints, schematic drawings, layouts and other technical specifications
Support electrical crews in the areas of electrical distribution systems and equipment maintenance
Review and critique proposed changes to engineering standards, policies, or details
Review and critique development plans for compliance with adopted engineering standards and good engineering practices
Coordinate the activities of the design and implementation teams
Implement and develop best practices
Track and report Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical or Electonrics Engineering from an internationally recognized institution
Strong knowledge and/or experience with open pit mining operations with a minimum 5 years related work experience
Knowledge of applicable federal, provincial and local electrical codes and safety laws in mandatory
Must have excellent organizational abilities
Detail and results oriented with the ability to multi task, and adhere to deadlines
Ability to work independently, with emphasis in a team oriented environment
Willingness to work a flexible schedule
Strong computer skills
