Design Group Staffing is searching for an Environmental Advisor (Wildlife) on behalf of our oil sands client.
Location: Fort McMurray, AB
Term: 6 months
NOTES:
- Must be set up as an Incorporated Contractor
- No relocation or accommodations provided
- Must be able to start ASAP
The Environmental Advisor will support the wildlife management, compliance and reporting needs for sites within the Wood Buffalo Region.
The Role
- Coordinate wildlife contractors and consultants at the various sites
- Manage relationships with government and other regulators (Fish and Wildlife, Alberta Environment and Parks, Alberta Energy Regulator, etc.)
- Complete wildlife monthly and annual reporting
- Support the environmental on-call teams with wildlife expertise
- Conduct internal inspections in order to improve wildlife compliance
- Participate in internal and external wildlife committees
- Train and educate operational staff and leaders regarding wildlife, as required
- Coordinate inspections, investigations and tours by regulators and internal leaders at the plant
The Ideal Candidate
- Experience working with Provincial and Federal regulatory acts and regulations
- Bachelor’s degree in science or related field
- Experience working with wildlife
- Experience with industrial operations
- Highly effective communication skills
