We are currently looking for an Environmental Technician in Timmins.

Qualifications: 

• College diploma or equivalent in Environmental Studies.

• 3-5 years in Mining Industry experience

• Strong Knowledge in the Health and Safety

• Strong Interpersonal Skills

• Excellent Computer skills

MUST have own reliable transportation

Must be willing and able to work rotations and shifts.

PPE Required: All high viz class 3 orange mining PPE are required. Boots, Gloves, Hard Hat with name on it and Ear Muffs. 

Tickets/Certificates Required: All Levert Online Testing, Site specific induction  

Working Conditions: Outdoors in various weather and temperature conditions

Job Description: Environmental Compliance Implement environmental monitoring programs and enter and review analytical and computer generated data for accuracy and verify/correct results.

Prepare monitoring reports for internal distribution or submission to Government (ie.MOE/EC)

• Oversee operation of AMS Stations and Hi-volume samplers, including regular instrument maintenance and calibrations, as well as repairs and modifications to equipment.

• Provide support for Senior Environmental Coordinator

• Provide support for Industrial Hygiene Monitoring (potable water only).

• Investigate and Respond to incidents/spills as required, conduct environmental monitoring, advise on spill clean-up

• Initiate, oversee, and report on non-routine environmental studies or projects as maybe required by site or government agencies (MOE, EC, MNR, etc).

• Liaise with relevant government agencies and participate in government audits and inspection

• Assist with proper handling and disposal of hazardous, non-hazardous or subject wastes generated at the site.

• Complete site inspections (waste, hazardous waste, spills, etc.) on a routine basis

• Routine monitoring and sampling at Closed sites
