An exciting opportunity has become available for a Geotechnical Engineer in Alberta to blend field based work with an office environment. Internally this company offers considerable opportunity for career progression, whilst working on challenging and exciting projects.

As the Geotechnical Engineer, the primary focus of the role will be to supervise a team of geotechnical engineers and technicians who are delivering large scale projects to oil sands and coal mine clients. This role will encompass the preparation of proposals, cost estimates and time lines for projects to ensure their on-time delivery. You will lead the planning, field support and completion of geotechnical site investigations and review and interpret monitoring information from geotechnical instrument programs. You will conduct the analysis and design of earthworks structures which are primarily pit slopes, disposal areas and tailings dams. 

To be suitable for this role you will have a Bachelors or Masters degree in geotechnical, geological, civil or mining engineering with a minimum of five years’ experience. You will be registered, or be able to register as a Mining Engineer in Alberta. Technically you will be experienced in geotechnical planning and design in open pit environments and be comfortable working under deadlines and schedules. 

This is a position that will allow you to develop your technical skills and work on some of the leading projects in British Columbia and Alberta.

Compensation

$85,000 - $105,000
