The Geotechnical Engineer is responsible for coordinating, researching, monitoring and implementing geotechnical data gathering, reporting and interpretation for development of pit design and slope stability recommendations, as well as developing safe, effective and timely mitigation measures for failures.
Responsible for geotechnical data gathering, interpretation, notification and reporting.
Works in concert with mine operations, mine engineering, geology and consultants to collect data and interpret results to formulate recommendations for pit designs, dump designs and slope failure mitigation.
Assists with short, medium and long range mine planning and hydrology analysis. Assists and monitors mine drilling and blasting activities and acts as drill and blast engineer as required. Installs, operates and maintains slope monitoring equipment.
