Heavy Duty Mechanic or Industrial Mechanic (Maintenance & Trades)

Reporting to the Mechanical Superintendent, the Heavy Duty Mechanic will be responsible for repairing and troubleshooting various equipment on site.

SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1.  Perform quality maintenance work as directed by their supervisor.
2.  Follow company policies and procedures.
3.  Must be experienced and comfortable working at heights.
4.  Understand the operation of diagnostic equipment and measuring tools, reading and interpreting results
5.  Inspect, diagnose equipment and troubleshoot components as required (hydraulics experience required/ necessity).
6.  Be able to read procedures and prints as part of the diagnostic process.
7.  Record all defective items on equipment and supply parts listing as per DMC procedures.
8.  Must follow standard safety operating procedures.
9.  Welding & fabrication experience is an asset
10. Takes responsibility for aspects of occupational health and safety, and environmental matters, over which the individual has control, including adherence to all requirements applicable to DMC.
11. Demonstrate commitment to the continued improvement of Health, Safety and Environment.
12. Have a completed personal basic trade tool inventory of a recognized quality.

QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE
- Heavy Duty Mechanic Journeyman (current)
- Hoist experience an asset
- Hydraulics experience a necessity
- 5 years' experience 
- Must be legally entitled to work in Canada
