Information and Business Improvement Manager (Management & Executives)

We are seeking a Information and business improvement Manager, based in Mozambique, working for a global mining operator.  
The role will report to the deputy General manager, with responsibilities to Head Office. 
Key Deliverables & Accountabilities: 
- Management Information Reports
- To ensure that reliable and accurate data is captured into the Management Information System and that the data is analyzed in real time to support the decisions for the operational front line Managers to maximize the overall equipment effectiveness
- Preparation of daily, weekly, monthly and annual MIS reports including among other items mining, Washing Plant and Sort House production performance figures.
- Improve the robustness of data sets and the quality of the reporting and commentary to drive improvements and enhance decision making. Managing the cost and time constraints of projects;
- Preparation of the summary to MIS reports 
- Productivity Improvement and cost-reduction Initiatives
- Initiate, facilitate and co-ordinate improvement ideas  
- Receive improvement ideas from various parties through their heads of departments.
- Chair weekly production improvement review meetings
- Use of MIS data for fact based conversations to drive business improvements
- Formulate business cases for improvements using hard data   
- Time studies on fleet deployment and production targets
- Ensure that time studies are carried out on Mining pieces of equipment as well as Washing Plant to collect data that would help in setting targets.  
- Ensure that conformance and variance checks on the set targets are periodically carried out and deviations brought to the attention of responsible heads of departments for corrective action.
- Ensure that equipment is correctly deployed at the Mine in line with their respective capacities as established through Time studies. 
- Budgeting and Business plan (annual and long-term)
- Assist Group MIS Manager and Senior Management in preparation of Business Plans for board meetings, strategy meetings and annual budgets by updating the existing business plans with updated mine plans, production targets, unit costs and other relevant production and financial data.
- Create charts, diagrams, summaries to business plans  
 
- Department Administration
- Administer the affairs of the MIS department at the Mine.  
- Coach, supervise and motivate MIS team to work collectively and efficiently ensuring that data is accurately collected, analysed, summarised and disseminated.
 
- Working relationships
- Develop and maintain strong business relationships, working closely with geologists responsible for the quality control of run off mine, intermediates and finished products, mechanical engineers to monitor and improve the efficiency, output and safety of a plant, Sort House and product Managers for right grading, security to perform air tight security system and other specialists.  
 
Minimum qualifications and experience:
 
- Bachelor's Degree/Diploma or equivalent professional qualification in Process Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Geology, Production/Operations Management
- Minimum 5 years' experience in Operations out of which minimum of 2 years in MIS department in a similar position at middle management or managerial level, preferably in a mining or mining-related industry.
- Advanced user of MS Excel, PowerPoint, Word and other relevant software/accounting systems
- Expertise in mining / processing operations, continuous improvement  and management.
- Experience in supervising and managing people.
- English speaking with excellent communications skills (both written and verbally).
- Knowledge of Portuguese will be an advantage (Not Essential)  
- Excellent analytical and evaluation skills of financial and non-financial information
- Ability to influence across the mine site and supervise, manage and lead staff
