Lead Mechanical Engineer - Mining (Engineering)

Our client is a recognized leader in the field of mine design, mine engineering, mineral process design, project management and mine construction. They current have an opportunity for a Lead Mechanical Engineer for their location in Toronto. 

Responsibilities and Duties 

·         Sizing and specification of mechanical equipment required for projects/studies

·         Liaise with equipment suppliers and select the equipment to be purchased for projects

·         Liaise with the Procurement Department and the equipment supplier during the purchasing of the equipment

·         Prepare cost and time schedules, and ensure compliance throughout project life cycle

·         Ensure that all work in progress is completed on time and to high quality standards

·         Draft work procedures

·         Compile, adjudicate and recommend award of tenders for mechanical equipment

·         Ensure that all design and fabrication is in accordance with defined minimum standards

·         Work with specialist design consultants as required

·         Commissioning

·         Some travel will be required

Qualifications and Experience 

·         10+ years of Mechanical engineering

·         University Degree in Mechanical Engineering

·         Must have at least 5 years’ experience working with mineral processing plants

·         Professional Engineer designation a MUST
