Stellar Recruitment has been engaged by a well-known, industry leading mining company with operations across the North America to recruit an UNDERGROUND MAINTENANCE FOREMAN for one of their premier underground mines in Louisiana. Our client has been established in North America since the 1800’s and they currently employ over 2,500 employees.

The UNDERGROUND MAINTENANCE FOREMAN will report to the Maintenance Supervisor and will manage a team of approximately 8 (Mechanics and Electricians).  This position will require solid leadership skills and a genuine desire to upskill your team. You will work Monday to Friday, rotating day / night shifts.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Set up preventative maintenance schedules and ensure they are being followed
• Manage your assigned area within budget and identify cost saving initiatives
• Oversee safety objectives in your assigned areas and investigate any issues
• Maximize machine availability and performance via preventative maintenance
• Ensure compliance with regulations and company policies
• Establish work schedules
• Coach and mentor employees to be safe, efficient, upskilled and cost focused 

QUALIFICATIONS:

• High School, plus additional trade
• 5+ years of experience in mining and/or heavy industrial maintenance, with at least 2 years in a leadership role
• Previous experience working with union environment is preferred
• Must be willing to work rotational shifts underground
