Maintenance Manager (Maintenance & Trades)

Design Group Staffing - Vancouver is seeking a Maintenance Manager to join our client, a privately owned company who has multiple years of experience working on exciting and innovative projects.

The candidate will be given the opportunity to work with a hardworking and dedicated team who value modern technology and new ideas. As a Maintenance Manager, you will oversee the Maintenance of base camp in addition to all of the satellite operations.

Accountabilities:

• Leading a team of maintenance staff;
• Ensuring mechanical availability targets are met;
• Ensuring training, mentoring and coaching of key maintenance personnel;
• Communicating regularly with all maintenance technicians and ensuring good two-way communication for any issues that arise;
• Tracking, analyzing and improving key maintenance parameters;
• Communicating with the operations department to coordinate maintenance and repair work in process areas;
• Ensuring operations are aware of the equipment availability; and
• Administering programs such as employee improvement plans and records.

Requirements:

• Post-secondary diploma or a Journeyman trade certification;
• An Undergraduate degree would be preferable;
• 6 years’ minimum experience working as a Maintenance Manager;
• Strong working knowledge of safe work practices;
• Ability to think logically and strategically and analyze complex problems;
• Comfortable working with a computerized maintenance management system.

The individual chosen for this role will be highly creative, hardworking, achievement focused, analytical and organized.  Strong attention to detail, planning and excellent communication and interpersonal skills are a must.
