Maintenance Superintendent (Maintenance & Trades)

Position Summary

Reporting to the General Manager, the Maintenance Superintendent’s day-to-day responsibilities are to provide property wide maintenance and servicing of all equipment, buildings and facilities in New Brunswick.  This includes the management and oversight of such maintenance related functional activities such as planning, scheduling, shift control, parts, materials, electrical systems etc.  The Maintenance Superintendent will lead the site team in the development and implementation of the company’s maintenance and build out plan to achieve both short and long term goals during the development and production stages. This role has a strong focus on the site electrical installations and will require the necessary knowledge and experience in the area of major electrical installations.

Job Duties

  • Oversee all maintenance and servicing activities at the New Brunswick mine properties
  • Manage the maintenance, construction and electrical requirements of buildings, ponds, roads, and special surface projects such as admin office renovation, power line access, and internet upgrade
  • Responsible for projects involving construction of new buildings and facilities and alternations/repairs to existing areas
  • Liaison with the General Manager and various operations managers to ensure equipment/plant-scheduled downtimes are coordinated effectively.
  • Authorizes major repairs or modifications and prepares an annual maintenance budget.
  • Manage the acquisition and maintenance of all surface equipment
  • Manage the Water Treatment Plant operations
  • Review all tenders for construction to ensure for complete and cost effective contracts
  • Provide professional interaction with all Trevali clients - both internal and external
  • Other duties as assigned

Essential Qualifications

  •  
    • Must hold Electrical certification as required in NB.
    • 10+ years in maintenance management
    • 5-7 years  of increasingly senior mine operations and leadership roles
    • 3 years supervisory experience
    • EducationExperience
