We are currently seeking an experienced Manager, Mine Engineering to join our team at our corporate office in Vancouver. Reporting to the Senior Vice President, Operations you will be responsible for the overall direction of Mining and Mine Engineering at Eldorado’s operations. You will provide technical expertise and support/ manage outside consultants in order to perform project evaluations, analysis and feasibility studies and reports on proposed and existing projects.
Specific Responsibilities include:
- Support mine operations by providing engineering expertise in mining and mine planning
- Assist with identification of potential problems and opportunities; and use engineering approaches to assure enhanced outcomes for the operation
- Contribute to Feasibility and Optimization Studies
- Prepare short and long term production plans
- Advise the mine engineering sections of the various operations including personnel development to cover the following tasks: Assist with development of grade control systems; Assist with the development of geotechnical control programs; Assist with the development of reporting systems for production follow-up
- Maintain database for block modelling purposes, mine planning and production
- Prepare regular production reports on the mine operation
- Provide required data for budgeting and cost follow up
- Review mining plans and costs to assist with budget planning.
Ideally, you will have:
- Mining engineering degree or equivalent and professional engineer designation
- 15 years’ experience in mine engineering and operations
- Extensive mine planning experience in a range of mining applications
- Knowledge of metallurgical aspects of mining and grade control, exploration methods, and resource estimation
- Exposure to multiple mining methods and different ore body systems
- Extensive mine planning experience in a range of mining applications
- Knowledge of computer software for mine design
- Sound knowledge of computerized block modeling/mine planning software and spreadsheets
- Exposure to geostatistical analysis, risk assessment and controls
- Experience in international environment an asset and
- Ability and willingness to travel and work internationally.
