Mill Maintenance Planner (Maintenance & Trades)

Red Chris Development Company is seeking an experienced individual to be a part of the mine
development team for the Red Chris Project in northwest British Columbia. The work is at a remote camp and the successful applicants will be required to work and stay in camp on a rotational basis.
Reporting to the Mill Maintenance Superintendent, the Mill Maintenance Planner directs and monitors
the planned preventive maintenance program. The succesful candidate will have extensive mill
maintenance experience and Journeyperson status in a maintenance trade.

Primary responsibilities for the Mill Maintenance Planner are:

  • To help ensure compliance with all safety, quality, schedule, cost and security requirements
  • Plans all non-emergency corrective and preventive maintenance jobs
  • Creates work orders for all approved non-emergency work requests
  • Develops standard job plans and tracks performance to plan
  • Manages and controls the storage and release of all parts/materials required for planned jobs
  • Manages the work order backlog for all physical assets requiring maintenance
  • Reviews completed work orders to ensure relevant job information is captured in the equipment/component repair history file
  • Key contributor to meeting equipment availability targets within budget
  • Works closely with materials department to ensure availability of required parts and materials
  • Analyzes, identifies and reviews equipment maintenance problems with maintenance engineering
  • Generates maintenance department performance reports
  • Work closely with all departments to coordinate activities; with specific focus with Mill Operations and Metallurgy

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Journeyperson status in a maintenance trade
  • A minimum of 10 years maintenance work experience with 2-3 years of directly related planning experience.
  • Must have exceptional organizational abilities
  • Detail and results oriented with the ability to multi task, and adhere to deadlines
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Experience with manual and computerized maintenance management programs
  • Strong computer skills
