Mill Superintendent required for an operating gold mining company in Saudi Arabia. The Mill Superintendent’s role will involve supervising the entire mill process with the aim of optimising metal recovery, ensuring constant equipment availability along with process and labour efficiency.  Ensuring that all operations are carried out in accordance with approved safety and environmental standards and regulations.  Responsibilities include operations, mechanical and electrical maintenance, assay laboratory, metallurgical laboratory, heap leaching and water treatment plant.

The Mill Superintendent’s role will include supervising the activities of assigned personnel in the Mill Department.  Performing supervisory duties at the department head level as established by management for the position.
- Exercising general supervision over mill operations to ensure optimum recovery of gold, silver, zinc and copper from the ore.  Including reviewing collated daily production figures and results, identifying deviations from predetermined standards and targets, taking action on such deviations in liaison with supervisory staff and following up to ensure effective achievement of results.
- General supervision of preventive and breakdown mechanical and electrical maintenance; heap leach operations and assay activities.  This includes monitoring analytical and test results, liaising with Chief Assayer regarding improved methods and equipment and compiling and submitting reports to higher management.
- General supervision of metallurgical laboratory activities, including identifying less efficient areas in the processing plant.
- General supervision of water treatment and the operation of swimming pools and sewage plant, which includes liaising daily with supervisory staff regarding the level of water stocks, and discussing performance of water treatment plant for preceding 24 hours, for identifying problems which have arisen and the remedial action required.
- Supervises the department’s implementation of Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) programs. Attends and provides input to strategy and policy development and review meetings; ensures that the promotion of the company’s policies and procedures in the Maintenance Department is effective and monitors activities to ensure compliance. 
   
Requirements for the role:
Bachelor’s degree in Extractive Metallurgy or equivalent, plus a good history of mining experience relevant to gold, silver, copper, zinc etc., including supervisory experience.
