Millwright Apprentice (Maintenance & Trades)

Millwright Apprentice 2nd or 3rd Year in Port McNeill, BC.

This position reports to the Maintenance Manager. You will be responsible for recording all training hours and following the agreed upon Apprenticeship Program set out by Orca Sand & Gravel and the ITA. You must perform a variety of tasks such as assembly and installation of equipment. You must ensure the parts are the right ones, assemble and install them properly within each component, according to the blueprints, diagrams and schematic drawings.
It is a rotating schedule, there may be times when you will be required to work extra hours and/or weekends.

Qualifications & Experience: 

This Position will only be awarded to the candidate that does not currently hold a Trades Ticket and meets Orca Sand & Gravel and the Industry Training Authority (ITA) requirements.

- Currently registered with ITA for Millwright Trade
- Knowledge and experience with Industrial Manufacturing and Mechanical work required.
- Knowledge of Bearings and Pumps.
- Hydraulic Experience.
- Overhead Crane experience required.
- Tools required.
