Fortnum Gold Mine is a development ready gold operation located 200km north of Meekatharra. Tenure holdings include the historical mining township of Peak Hill as well as modern mining centres of Horseshoe, Grosvenor and Labouchere. The operation is leveraged to take advantage of the historical production base, synergies with Westgold's nearby Central Murchison Gold Project and by utilising the existing 1.0Mtpa processing plant and operating infrastructure base which is currently undergoing refurbishment.

Westgold is therefore looking to fill critical roles early in the re-start phase to enable smooth transition into production as well as maximise the operations ability to leverage on the Resource base.

Experienced Mine Geologists are required to join the team

Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Mapping and recording of geological data
  • Grade Control reporting
  • Drill hole planning, logging and reporting
  • Maintain safe working procedures
  • Working with the mining team to ensure production targets are met

Qualifications, Education and Experience:

  • Appropriate tertiary qualifications in Geology
  • Minimum 2 years underground / open pit experience
  • Proficiency with Surpac, experience with GCX would be advantageous
  • Competent with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Familiar with wireframing and ore block estimations
  • Strong communication skills
  • Awareness of the Mine Safety and Inspection Act & Regulations
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team
