Coeur Rochester, a subsidiary of Coeur Mining Inc. based near Lovelock, Nevada is seeking a Mine Planning Engineer to join our team at the Rochester Mine. Reporting directly to the Technical Services Superintendent, the Mine Planning Engineer will undertake the following responsibilities:
- Develop long range mine plans, mine design, tracking actual progress against planned production
- Complete survey elevation grade checks at pits and dumps to improve mining accuracy. Layout pit designs and project work for mining accuracy and improvements to ore recovery
- Complete short term mining plans to keep operations on budget targets and within the long term plan.
- Develop weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual mine and waste storage plans.
- Regular coordination with Operations, Geology, and Survey groups to implement the weekly and monthly plan. In addition to the creation of forecasts to achieve monthly, and yearly budget targets.
- Plan and coordinate moderately complex projects, including estimation of capital and operating costs, design optimization, and mine infrastructure changes
- Work with Maintenance and Purchasing departments to provide engineering expertise, and improve cost optimization.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mining Engineering or related field
- Approximately three to five years of mine planning experience at an open pit operation
- Knowledge of Gemcom and Deswik mine planning software, AutoCAD, word processing and spreadsheet programs.
- Excellent skills in organization, presentation, written and verbal communications.
- Sound knowledge of mine methods, costs, and productivity.
