Summary: Our client is a rapidly growing world-class coal producer with more than 3 billion tons of reserves. They currently operate four highly productive underground coal mines in the Eastern United States and we are helping them to identify a Project Engineer who will be responsible for surface projects.
They will be responsible for, but not limited to the following: |
- Developing surface projects related to mine site operations.
- Developing strategic and operating plans for the earth moving function.
- Providing project field management, including supervising any outside engineering firms.
- Monitoring engineering and/or construction project progress.
- Reviewing project cost control forecasts and managing documentation and data.
- Preparing all required information for presentation to senior management.
Qualifications/Experience etc:
- B.S. Engineering Degree
- At least 5 -10 years of have hands on experience in large earth moving/ reclamation type projects.
- High level of technical expertise with heavy equipment fleet management and familiarity with a broad range of equipment types.
- A ‘hands on’ engineer, used to spending up to 75% of their time in the field.
- The ability to develop and execute plans in a leadership role.
- A participatory management style, leads by example, motivates and gets results.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interface equally with corporate management and workers at the face.
- Ability to exercise sound business judgment.
- Demonstrates, by example, a commitment to working safely.
- High level of energy, with ability to work independently, with limited direction.
