Mine Technician Job 2014-062

Reporting to the Mines Technical Services Superintendent, the Mine Technician is a key member of the Technical Services Department, working closely with the Mine Engineer to develop, update mine plans and provide technical guidance.

Position Requirements

  •  Must have post-secondary education or diploma
  •  A minimum 2-3 years of underground mine experience in a shaft mine during the development/construction period
  •  Extensive drafting and design experience in AutoCAD and a mining specific software (Mine 24D or Vulcan)
  •  Extensive experience in civil, mechanical and underground development drafting
  •  Extensive knowledge of working in a FIFO position in a remote location
  •  Work with the mine planning and mine projects team completing required design drawings
  •  Complete civil and mechanical drawings for construction
  •  Perform various technical roles underground as required
  •  Strong analytical and technical skills
  •  Strong leadership and excellent communication skills
  •  Solid organizational skills, ability to prioritize, meet tight deadlines and handle multiple tasks
  •  Well-developed ability to plan, organize, and execute detailed phases of project assignments from design to testing
