One of Australia’s largest independent coal miners is now offering an exciting permanent position for a Mining Engineer to join their Major Contracts department. This successful open cut coal mining company is now looking for an experienced Mining Engineer to join them on site. The role would be best suited to a resident of the southern Bowen Basin Region as it requires a DIDO Monday to Friday roster. This position offers an immediate start with a competitive remuneration package, including subsidised accommodation for the successful candidate.
Working closely with a variety of key stakeholders, you will provide engineering support to major contract operations on site. You will need to have a strong understanding of mine planning and scheduling, to successfully develop and monitor mine plans, pit designs and schedules, to meet the short and medium term budget targets. Previous proven success with interpretation of strategic plans, at an operational level, will be needed to provide planning and technical support for the operations department. You will work within the major contract team to maximise the contribution of the mines suppliers and contractors, to production, cost performance and safety targets.
To be successful in this role you will have the relevant Degree in Mining Engineering, Civil Engineering or Mine Surveying, as well as 5 or more years mine planning experience in an open cut coal mining environment. A high exposure to contract operations, as well as experience working with stakeholders is desired, along with the understanding of mine planning and scheduling concepts needed for an open cut coal mine. Together with your effective organisational and communication skills you will have a passion for working within a team to achieve targets.
