Title: Mining Engineer
Location: Nevada
Our client, operating an open pit mine containing reserves of over 10 million ounces of gold and 500 million ounces of silver, is currently seeking a qualified Mining Engineer to join their team. A great position within an excellent operation!
Responsibilities of the Mining Engineer include:
- Provide engineering support to the entire operation as well as various other projects
- Develop and implement planning schedules and cost estimates
- Contribute to annual budget and life of mine plans
- Schedule and coordinate the work of technicians in order to complete work on time and within budget
- Plan, schedule, and coordinate detailed phases of the engineering work
- Plan and conduct surveys & tests, interpret results, and prepare recommendations; meet with representatives of other departments to coordinate planning and scheduling activities
- Liaise with site management and other technical staff
Requirements for the Mining Engineer position include:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering
- A minimum of five (5) years of experience within a mining engineering role
- Experience within a hard-rock mining environment; experience within gold operations an important asset
- Expert knowledge in engineering and design
- Superior technical communication and presentation skills
- Project management skills
