Job Location: Thunder Basin Coal Company, Wright, WY
Overall Job Purpose: To provide effective engineering support for the safe, efficient, and cost-effective operation of the mine.
Responsibilities Include:
- Preparation and monitoring of short-range mine plans
- Preparation of dragline and truck-shovel pit designs, schedules, and forecasts
- Field engineering work such as pit layout, ramp design, drainage design, etc
- Effective communication and coordination with operations staff to facilitate effective implementation of designs and plans
- Accurate and timely production volume calculations
- Perform analysis of production volumes and major equipment performance
- Timely preparation and reporting of production statistics
- Assistance with surveying when required
- Assistance in permitting and environmental design work
- Other duties as assigned
Required Education & Experience:
Preferred Education & Experience:
- Mining Engineering or related degree, or equivalent experience
- Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills
- Strong analytical skills
- Ability to effectively manage multiple tasks or projects
- Proficiency with word processing, spreadsheet, and computer drafting (AutoCAD/SurvCADD) computer software - experience with Minex or Mincom a plus
