Eldorado Gold is a Canadian low-cost gold producer with over 20 years of experience building and operating gold mines in Europe, Asia and South America.  Our Jinfeng mine is an open-pit and underground gold mine located in China's southern Guizhou Province.

We are currently seeking a Mining Manager to join the mining operations team at our Jinfeng Gold mine. Reporting to the General Manager, you will be responsible for leading an appropriately skilled and motivated mining team including open pit, underground and maintenance team, in the achievement of budgeted mining activities and development works at budgeted cost in a safe, efficient and cost effective manner.

Responsibilities include:

• Leading, and managing the Jinfeng Mining Operations team towards sustained performance by developing and implementing continuous improvement initiatives towards improved safety and environmental results, and margin between revenue and costs
• Ensuring underground and open pit operations are carried out in a safe, efficient and cost-effective manner
• Developing and implementing strategies to improve mining productivities in a cost effective manner
• Assisting the Chief Mining Engineer to manage the Technical Services team
• Assisting the Geology Manager to align geology and mining activities
• Supporting department heads in improving their performance to achieve/exceed budget and goals
• Ensuring opportunities are maximized for sharing processes and support services across Eldorado
• Ensuring LOM planning is undertaken and implemented to optimize Jinfeng’s performance
• Participating in the successful transition to a sustainable solely underground mining operation
• Coordinating/ reviewing compilation of the annual departmental budget and monitoring departmental expenditure on a monthly basis.

Ideally, you will have:

• A degree in an engineering related discipline
• Significant experience in senior engineering positions, including experience in a site-based environment
• Experience in Life of Mine Planning and budgeting
• Good knowledge of mining technology and heavy production equipment
• Experience in managing department costs and budgeting
• Good Computer skills and experience with Mine planning software and MS Project
