Our client in the Middle East requires an Occupational Health Specialist, Corporate. The OHSE Specialist will be responsible for monitoring and administering the Company’s occupational health program at the mine sites.
The key tasks will include: auditing contractor compliance to health standards; conducting on-site inspections and analysing the health impacts and; providing technical advice and services with respect to occupational health.
This position is responsible for implementing operational excellence activities within the job holder's remit.
The responsibilities of the role will include:
- Carrying out inspections, audits and assessments of occupational health conditions at the mine site.
- Observing compliance by employees to the mine's occupational health rules and regulations and submitting written reports on violations accordingly.
- Formulating plans concerning occupational health management and protection in the mine with reference to the company’s standards, actions and measures.
- Investigating all occupational health incidents and non-conformances and determining the causes.
- Submitting established recommendations to the Environment and Occupational Health Supervisor.
- Evaluating occupational health hazards by developing and modifying procedures and ensuring that all concerned personnel are adhering to program standards.
- Inspecting and monitoring all mine sites with respect to any matters relating to occupational health.
- OHSAS 18001 implementation and certification.
Requirements for the role:
- BSc in Engineering in Environmental or Mining and
- Experience in environmental inspection and control, preferably in the mining industry.
