Production Geologist (Geology & Exploration)

Full Time

  Metro Mining Limited

  FIFO from Cairns, Queensland, Australia

As a degree qualified Geologist you are looking for a role with a green fields project that offers the opportunity to begin at the beginning, to be involved before the mine starts operations. As part of the Production and Planning team your input will have a direct impact on mine productivity and will be crucial to the success of the operation. As an intelligent, lateral thinker, you prefer roles that offer variety and are keen to be involved in an organisation that is thinking outside of the box and planning to use a variety of modern software, technology and GIS packages to achieve its objectives.

You will also be involved in assisting with collating and compiling production and quality reports for presentations, assisting with the preparation and management of drilling programs, conducting Ground Penetration Radar programs and assisting with both safety and environmental audits.

Metro Mining is developing the Bauxite Hills Mine in the Cape York peninsular near the Skardon River. The role will be FIFO from Cairns on a 7/7 (days) roster. Although current plans have the mine operating only through the dry season this is a permanent full time role.
