Our client is a major global mining company with a wide range of successful operations across the country and overseas. They are currently seeking an experienced Metallurgist to join their team and support multiple mines. In this role, you will be reporting to the Processing Manager and working with plant personnel to ensure the plant is operating efficiently and effectively as well as achieving high safety standards.
In this role, your responsibilities will involve:
- Review and develop new and current processes and practices for improvement
- Analyze performance by sampling process stream, checking mill circuits, inspecting process controls analyzing performance
- Work closely with operations team to develop SOP and strategies for efficient operations
- Provide backup and mentorship for lab staff
- Interact closely with additional departments at site
To be successful you will have:
- 4+ years’ experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Metallurgical Engineering
- Experience within an underground hard rock mining environment
- Strong communication and accounting skills
