Job Opportunity: Senior Geological Engineer – Saskatoon, SK  

Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor degree in Geological Engineering or related required
  • 7-10 years of experience with underground mine geology, preferably in potash
  • CANADIAN professional engineering degree required
  • Proven supervisory experience
  • Proficient knowledge of the following software: SAP, Mine Design and Vulcan
  • Strong leader and experience in all aspects of underground operations 

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for all geological aspects including production and exploration requirements and strategies, resource and reserve stewardship, rock mechanics and rehabilitation planning as well as strategic growth  opportunities for the geology department
  • Administration of the geological portion of human resources, projects, budgets and costs
  • Strategic planning, evaluation, development and review of geologic model for the site
  • Assurance of  stewardship and that updates are provided as required for 43-101 filings and fiscal report requirements are being met
  • Research and evaluate new technologies available
  • Involvement with planning of future operations and government relations to support growth
  • Responsible for all production elements including: grade projections, disturbance projections, daily field support and planning layouts to follow rock mechanic requirements
  • Involved with rehabilitation planning
  • Engaged in health and safety policies, procedures and mandates as well as ensuring that they are being met by the geological department
