Job Title: Senior Hydrologist

Employment Location: Arizona

Relocation: Provided, prefer local/regional candidates

Summary: The Senior Hydrologist is responsible for understanding the groundwater regime for the companies ISR (in-situ recovery) mining project. Emphasis is on activities related to permitting, pre-feasibility/feasibility studies through to production. Other key activities include managing contractors and drilling programs. Be able to work in a team environment supporting staff, while proactively and effectively interfacing with local and state agencies as required and working under minimal direction of the Executive Vice President.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage the hydrology program and provide input into the permitting and feasibility studies
  • Management of external contractors/consultants producing result on time and within budget
  • Management of field hydrology programs in an efficient cost effective manner
  • Develop technical scopes of work and cost estimating for proposal efforts on project opportunities of all sizes and levels of complexity.
  • Supervision of other hydrologists and field hands

 Qualifications/Requirements:

  • This position requires excellent management, organizational, communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Must be able to prioritize, manage multiple projects and adapt quickly to changing situations.
  • The successful candidate must demonstrate the ability to work in a team environment and communicate well with others.
  • Hydrology/geology degree preferred, but would consider other disciplines with appropriate hydrological experience and expertise
  • Experience in ISR (in-situ recovery) operations and or feasibility studies
  • Working knowledge of downhole geophysical hydrological testing methods
  • Working knowledge of AQTESOLVE and MODFLOW
  • Experience in fractured rock hydrology systems preferred
  • Geological, metallurgical, geochemical, engineering or other mine related experience would be a bonus
  • Past interaction and knowledge of permitting agencies a bonus
  • 10 years’ experience preferred
