Job Opportunity: Senior Mine Engineer
Red Chris Development Company is seeking an experienced individual to be a part of the mine development team for the Red Chris Project in Northwest British Columbia. The work is at a remote camp and the successful applicants will be required to work and stay in camp on a rotational basis.
Reporting to the Mine Operations Superintendent, the Senior Mine Engineer is responsible for aiding in the development of mine plans based on all geological information that sustains safety, production and cost goals.
Primary responsibilities for the Senior Mine Engineer are:
- Oversee engineering studies that identify proper mining methods
- Prepare detailed ore reserve estimates in additon to mine cost and production budgets and forecasts
- Ensure maximum prodcutivity and extraction rates by optimizing mining methods, procedures and equipment
- Advise on best methods to enhance safety, improve operational efficiency, control production costs and protect the environment
- To help ensure compliance with all safety, environment, quality, schedule, cost and security requirements.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mining Engineering from an internationally recognized institution.
- A minimum of 5 years experience at an open pit operation
- Experience with mining software is essential
- Must have exceptional organizational abilities
- Detail and results oriented with the ability to multi task, and adhere to deadlines
- Excellent leadership, interpersonal and communication skills.
