Stellar Recruitment has an opportunity for a Senior Mining Engineer to join a technical team in an open-cut coal mine in the Bowen Basin. This low-cost producer is looking to bring an Engineer on board who has an excellent attitude and strong experience of project work within truck and shovel operations.
Reporting to the Technical Services Manager your duties include (but are not limited to):
- Liaising with the geotechnical specialist to redesign pit wall and shell designs for each advancing strip
- Rehabilitation design
- Scheduling and design of sediment dams and top soil placement
- Analysis of equipment and implementation of improvements to optimise performance
- Liaising with all mine departments
To be successful in this position you will have:
- Tertiary qualifications in engineering
- 5 - 8 years’ experience in open-cut coal mining
- Strong experience in projects within truck and shovel operations
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Effective time management
- Deswik software proficiencies
In return, you will be offered a competitive day rate with flights and accommodation provided by the client. This role is FIFO out of Brisbane or DIDO from Mackay on a 9 day fortnight.
