Moolarben Coal Operations is a joint venture operated by Yancoal Australia Limited in Mudgee, New South Wales. With the vision to become one of the country's largest and most technologically advanced coal mining companies, Yancoal is growing organically and through targeted acquisition. The Moolarben Coal Mine consist of an existing Open Cut Coal Mine and CHPP approved to produce 13mtpa Run of Mine (ROM). In addition, Moolarben has commenced development of its first Underground Longwall Mine.
About the Opportunity
A unique opportunity exists to contribute to the development of one of the leading mining ventures in Australia. This role is therefore not about keeping a steady state, it is about working with a successful results driven team to contribute to a period of growth and development.
The primary focus of this role will be to provide senior mine engineering support by leading technical investigations and supporting the technical manager in the running of an effective technical services team. The successful incumbent will be responsible for implementing mine planning systems, including the design and scheduling of software along with developing production models and systems to monitor performance. Managing technical consultants, proving technical advice and recommendations to improve the operation whilst mitigating risks will also be a key requirement of the role.
To be considered, you will have relevant tertiary qualifications as a Mining Engineer together with a minimum of seven (7) year's underground mining engineering experience. Statutory qualifications in Underground Coal Mining will be considered highly desirable. These skills and experience will be complemented by your attention to detail, effective time management skills and ability to manage competing priorities.
All candidates must reside or be willing to relocate to an area within 100km of the operation.
