China's largest primary silver producer, Silvercorp Metals Inc., a Toronto Stock Exchange (TSX) and New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) listed public Company is seeking an experienced Senior Underground Mining Engineer to assume responsibility for exploration activities on the Company’s Ying and GC projects in China. You will be adding technical underground mine design knowledge to our Chinese projects at the Ying, GC and BYP projects and possibly other projects. The position is based in Silvercorp’s Beijing office.
Duties
- Examine and check underground mine plan, design, scheduling, and costing including underground layout designs for stoping, access and infrastructure
- Prepare presentation materials for company’s management and investors
- Oversee technical and production aspects of mine operations
- Capital and operating cost estimates
- Tailings management exposure a definite asset
- New project evaluation and economic analysis
- Preparation and writing of pre-feasibility and feasibility studies and Chinese technical and NI 43-101 technical reports
Skills, knowledge & abilities sought include but unlimited to:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Mine Engineering
- Be a Registered Member of in world recognized professional engineering organization
- Minimum 10 years’ technical and management experience in underground metal mines
- Proficiency with Micromine or other major mine software.
- General knowledge of applicable mining regulations, safety codes and acts
- Familiarity with mine permitting procedures
- Excellent technical and communication skills
- General knowledge of applicable mining regulations, safety codes and acts
- Experience with mining in China
- Fluent in English and Mandarin
