This position will offer an experienced short range planning engineer the opportunity to take on more responsibility and become a leader within the business. 

Under the direction of the Engineering Manager the Short Range Planning Supervisor will be responsible for managing the day to day workings of the operation from within the engineering department. The position will be highly focused on pit optimization and ensuring company assets are deployed in the most effective manner to maximize production. The Supervisor will oversee the mine planners, blast crew and geologists and assist in their individual mentoring and career development. Within the engineering department the short-range planning supervisor will work closely with the long-range planning supervisor in order to execute these plans on a daily basis. 

To be suitable for this role you will have a Bachelors of Mining Engineering and have at least six years of experience in open pit mine engineering. You should have or be eligible for your professional engineering designation. Preference will be given to those candidates who have worked in large scale mining operations that have a proven track record of productivity gains through their implementation of pit optimization and scheduling practices. As a senior member of the engineering team, the successful candidate will have a sound technical knowledge of Minesight, AutoCAD and Talpac and be comfortable leading junior engineers and technicians face technical challenges as they arise.
