Stellar Recruitment has been engaged to recruit a STAFF EXPLORATION GEOLOGIST for an industry leading, independent energy company focused on developing their International assets. This company has a world-class portfolio of assets and a strong track record of successfully discovering and developing oil and gas resources. Their Houston office is responsible for the exploration and development of their offshore assets, which span across four continents.
THE POSITION:
As the STAFF EXPLORATION GEOLOGIST, you will work in company’s deep water African Exploration group. You will be responsible for identifying and evaluating deep water exploration prospects.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Construct geological models from well logs, cross-sections and maps
- Develop an inventory of high-graded drilling prospects
- Make recommendations to management on drilling prospects
- Execute highly technical basin evaluations and risk assessments
- Identify sweet spots and the best stratigraphic intervals in basins
- Create structural and stratigraphic maps of deep water prospects
QUALIFICATIONS:
- B.S and M.S Geology
- 10+ years of upstream oil and gas operations engineering
- Must have deep water exploration experience
