Superintendent Mining (2 year contract) - Limpopo, Phalaborwa/Tzaneen Area
Job Description:
- Providing support and be involved in commissioning and ramp up activities.
- Supporting mineral reserve exploitation by driving and ensuring that the exploitation strategies are adhered to.
- Handling and managing mining data to enable better reserve management and production planning process and to maintain the integrity of the reserve depletion data.
- Developing relationships throughout the Growth Division and Company (particularly Processing) to share knowledge and experience for the benefit of the project
- Implementing the OR activities of the project from concept to handover using appropriate strategies, systems, processes, tools and resources
- In consultation with the mine design engineers develop the ramp-up mine operational plans and schedules to ensure constant ore supply and conformance to overall Life of Mine (LoM) plan
- Supervising and controlling the activities, standards of performance and behaviour of designated support staff as per PC stipulations.
- Managing all HSEQ related activities by setting and monitoring objectives to ensure standards are met
Skills required:
- Knowledge of discount cashflow analysis and project management principles.
- Comprehensive knowledge of block cave mining principles
Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:
- Degree or National Higher Diploma in Mining Engineering with a minimum of 3 years mining experience
- Project Management Qualification (advantageous) and Registration to a professional body (advantageous)
- Mine Overseer’s or Mine Manager’s Certificate
- MDP or equivalent leadership development program (advantageous)
