Design Group Staffing is currently searching for a Tailings Shift Supervisor on behalf of our client, a prime oilsands producer. Not only is our client well-respected, but they are at the helm of one of the most exciting projects in Canada.

Your Challenge

As the Tailings Shift Supervisor you will be responsible for developing the commissioning and start-up execution plan including the identification of start-up systems and boundaries, system turnover sequences, star-up schedules and specialised commissioning steps. You will recruit, train, develop and manage the performance of tailings personnel/operators. You will lead and promote health, safety and environment strategies and programs. In addition to contributing to policy/procedure development, you will provide input on major planning decisions, project design and constructability reviews. Your support of the planning, scheduling and field monitoring of maintenance activities including outages and turnarounds will be critically important.

The Ideal Candidate

• 5 years or more of tailings experience which must include cell construction and dredging
• Knowledge of tailings heavy equipment
• Experience in a supervisory capacity is critical
• Experience in primary extraction, knowledge of froth treatment facilities and supporting utilities
• High School Diploma or GED required
• Valid driver’s license and clean abstract 

This position is camp-based and will includes a 7/7 rotation.
