Company Overview

Our client is a private Canadian Company, exploring and developing metallurgical coal properties in Northeastern British Columbia, Canada.

The Company has approximately 94,000 hectares under license to mine.

This Company is positioned to be the first Company in the world to mine coal from narrow, steeply dipping seams, using a uniquely designed ADCAR; specifically customized for this purpose.

This will ensure that coal is mined in a safe, cost effective, environmentally conscious and responsible manner.

The position will report in to the CEO, and will be based in Vancouver, Canada.

As the properties are based in Northeastern British Columbia, the incumbent will be expected to travel and stay on site, as and when needed.

Responsibilities:

● Developing and constructing a mine; as well as eventually operating the mine.

● Feasibility Studies; mine planning and budgeting.

● Project Evaluation; from Exploration through to Operations.

● Evaluation and estimation of resources needed; in terms of Equipment and Manpower.

● Estimation of costs necessary to mine and develop the properties.

● Oversee a team of mining professionals; responsible for commissioning and developing the mine; including Geologists, Project Engineers, and Administrative Staff.

Qualifications:

● A Professional Engineering Degree (Civil or Mining).

● Extensive experience in coal mining, at least 10-15 years or more in surface mining.

● Must have “field experience” in operating a mine.

● Must be familiar with the Mines Regulation book and be able to find their way around regulatory environmental issues.

● The successful candidate must have a very good sense and solid knowledge of engineering, mine planning & development, and the feasibility studies of mine development.

● Excellent experience in coal mining, project evaluations, from Exploration to Operations.
